About the project:

The Municipal Water Department of Turks and Caicos needed a reliable and energy-efficient solution for supplying water to municipal customers and tourist facilities on the island of Providenciales, the most populated of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

To reduce energy consumption and downtime, they replaced their existing positive displacement pumps and Pelton Turbine ERDs with high pressure pumps and turbocharger ERDs supplied by FEDCO.

The results were impressive, with energy consumption under 2.46 kWh/m3 with a feed TDS of 41,000 ppm. The retrofit also achieved near-total elimination of downtime and reactive maintenance costs related to hydraulic equipment.
